And by the way… a follow-up note to my previous post about Philip Pullman‘s claim* that The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is devoid of any Christian virtue.

*(How Pullman can say that with a straight face utterly astounds me — I’ve always been a bit frustrated with the overly obvious Christian allegory of Lewis’s story.)

I’m suddenly wondering if it wasn’t a playful retort on the part of the Narnia filmmakers to provide the White Witch with a chariot drawn by polar bears. If you’re familiar with Phillip Pullman’s Christianity-bashing, and what talking-animal character plays a major role in his book The Golden Compass, you’ll see what I mean…
