Darren’s elaborating on an exquistely filmed Claire Denis film, its provocative soundtrack, and one of my all-time favorite closing scenes.
I missed this one in the theatre, but it’s still entrancing on DVD.

Watching Beau Travail is a like listening to a two-hour joke with a great punchline. I mean, wow, man, that punchline was really funny, just hilarious, but golly gee, couldn’t you condense the set-up just a bit?
