I’m just asking for trouble.

This afternoon I was interviewed live on the Christian radio station KPDQ in Portland, Oregon, today regarding the controversies over Kingdom of Heaven. The Georgene Rice show is at 4:30 p.m.

I grew up in a house where KPDQ was on almost every morning. When I think of Christian radio, I think of KPDQ.

Make of that what you will.

Anyway, Georgene Rice was a gracious, intuitive, and quick-witted host who kept things moving and asked all kinds of great questions. I had a very good experience, and I hope to revisit the show in the future. So, look out Portland! I’m back!

I don’t have strong feelings about Kingdom of Heaven, but hopefully that made the conversation about it better, not worse. Those with strong feelings either for or against it seem to be throwing fuel on damaging fires. Personally, I’d echo the film’s central sentiment about peaceable dialogue — let’s sit down, explore the film’s ideas, challenge them, and learn what we can from the experience.
